In their non-district finale, the Red Raiders face off against Hooks at Hornets Stadium on Sept 18. Always a good challenge for any opponent, the 2026 Hornets are no exception.
Fans can expect an explosive offense with multiple weapons including an exceptionally mobile quarterback in Kavon Stiger (3). RB Corbin Edwards (2) and WR Terence Gooden (1) will be primary targets.
The Hornets have good size on an experienced offensive line — Cruz Juarez (62) and Caden Mobley (55) — and a pair of long defensive ends — DL Trent Hanes and DL Cameron Fields — that will have to be accounted for. Leading tacklers are Cooper Eaves (50) and Camron Fields (16).
Hooks absorbed 49 points from Mineola in an 89-49 Week One rout. They fell to Shelbyville (3-0 record) 43-42 in Week Two and took a 60-30 loss against Kingston OK in Week Three.
Hooks competes in Class 3A, Division 2. Winnsboro is a slightly larger school competing in Division 1. The Red Raiders open the District 7-3A schedule Sept 25 at Commerce.
