District 7-3A-1 Update
District 7-3A-1 is looking pretty good against non-district opponents! Of course all of those victories will soon be irrelevant with the district schedule looming on Sept 25.
The Red Raiders (3-0) tagged Lone Oak 59-8 on Thursday. The team is averaging 43 ppg while allowing less than 7 ppg. Next up, Hooks! The Hornets always have good athletes and consistently present a challenge to all comers.
Commerce (2-1) bounced back with a 49-28 win over Edgewood after losing by 50pt to a good Canton squad the previous week.
Malakoff (3-0) was all over Grandview 40-7, and Mount Vernon (3-0) survived a Blue Ridge 22-21. Eustace (3-0) has also quietly pocketed three in a row; it will be interesting to see if they carry some of that momentum in district.
Mineola (1-2) pulled down a 49-42 win over Sabine, and Rains (1-2)fell to Grand Saline 55-15.
Coming up in Week Four: Winnsboro at Hooks, Commerce at Blue Ridge, Mount Vernon at Canton, Mineola at Lone Oak, and Rains at Howe. Malakoff will host Center and Eustace brings in Quitman.
